Jewelry Industry Overview

Since our inception, the primarly product of Bermark Design has been Master Models - the prototypes that jewelry manufacturers use in order to make molds in order to manufacture as many copies of the design as required. 

But now the world is changing. CAD/CAM for jewelry is not only for making models, but to produce precision made waxes that are used to produce single special order pieces - this is called Rapid Manufacturing (RM), & it is becoming the prevalent way for better jewelers to produce their special order pieces.   

In the US market we have found that while there are a declining amount of manufacturers that are interested in designs, models & CAD files that we offer, as US suppliers import now more than manufacture in the US, there are an increasing amount of independant jewelry retailers that use RM to make special order designs for their special order customers.

This a growing market & one of the reasons we developed our new internet design/CAD file database BERMARKonline.

Although there are a few companies selling jewelry design software it is our belief that it is cheaper & better for jewelers to use ready made designs & CAD files or have them altered to fit specific requirements as compared to making a new design for each individual customer.

Position Overview

This position is not a salaried position, but an opportunity to be in your own business. As our agent for US & Canda agent for BERMARKonline you will get commission on all US/Canada sales. You will be responsibe to contact existing customers & cold call new ones. This will mainly consist of phone calling to start with, but as the market develops you may travel to fairs or to special customers. If you are inclined it is possible to develop the agency into a "Service Bureau" business, where you can invest into a CAM machine in order to offer both file & output service to jewelers. 

Jewelry industry experience is the main requirement, and if you have CAD/CAM knowledge it would be an added advantage. Product training will be provided.      

Responsibilities

• Prospect, cold call and develop new accounts.

• Manage and report all appointment activity and sales calls

• Provide initial consultation/education to customers regarding BERMARKonline.

• Check to ensure customer transactions are processed properly.

• Give continuous input to Bermark's design team in order to provide the right products.  

• Give input, suggestions to improve BERMARonline.

• Develop & use email monthly lettersw to customers & prospects.  

• Keep updated on product and industry knowledge 

Requirements

• Jewelry Industry experience.

• Good phone sales and verbal communication skills.

• A person who likes both jewlry & technology.

• Knowledge of Outlook or similar database software.  

• Some level of computer skills, such as programs like Word & Excel. 

Compensation will be dependent on sales.
